Dear All
Since I seriously started the blog three months ago, I received lots of emails, phone calls and smses, inquiring about our pieces, especially vintage ones and those asking me to look out for certain items for them. One as far as India, even wrote and attached pictures of some retro furniture he discovered in his parents' barn and enquired whether I can tell him the age and style of the furniture. Since knowledge is to be shared, I shared with him whatever little knowledge I have of the pieces.
Some of you have visited the shops in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Nothing gives me greater pleasure nowadays than when you told me that you discovered us through the blog and that you are following it regularly. Thanks, thank you very much. I'm really grateful. I've been communicating with some of you regularly, though we have yet to meet. I feel that we have become friends over the net, simply because of our love for the vintage. When we do finally meet, the warmth and friendliness are for real. That's how I felt when I met Julia yesterday and Jaycee a few weeks ago.
The good response is a great encouragement for me to work harder in sourcing more regularly. Below are some of the furniture that came back from restoration over the weekend and those that I got yesterday. Still able to get some vintage pieces of the 50's and 60's. There are also some modern contemporary pieces, french sofa set, cast iron garden benches, books and paintings, that I got along with the vintage furniture. Because taste varies, I thought a greater range of choices would be good. Furthermore, they are good pices worth finding new owners for them.
This coming Monday, most of the unrestored pieces in Singapore will be sent out for restoration. However, we will be bringing back some of the items that have been booked in two weeks time. Should you be interested in some of the pieces, do let us know.
One of my favourite finds yesterday. This retro cupboard has a slightly longer and slimmer pencil legs unlike other retro cupboards of the same design. Will be an elegant piece once restored.

The retro sofa found in the barn. A 2-seater sofa joined together into a 4- seater. I may be wrong but the piece is a vintage 1060's -70's Scandinavian sofa in pine. The cushion is 3'' thickness compared to the standard 4'' sofa that we use around here. A charming, lively piece.
An interesting 3- seater armless retro sofa. Quite rare. Also available 3 single sofa of the same design.
A handsome wing chair. Unfortunately it is not in leather. Would look softer with fabric upholstery. Nice to have at least one wing chair for that private reading sofa of your own.

A retro 1960's-70's solid teak 3- door wardrobe. Quite rare. Look simple, yet requires good craftmanship. The piece sits on a wooden pedestal base. 2-door joined to a single door that fits nicely onto the pedestal base.
Teak Chingay cabinet that is getting rarer to find nowadays. So when someone brought it to my doorstep, I was really delighted.
The 2-small drawers at the bottom of the cabinet and the iron handles at the sides, is characteristic of most Chingay cabinets.
A vintage 1950's low wardrobe. A cloth hanging section on one side; shelves and drawer on the other side. With a mirror above, it makes a good dresser cabinet.
A beautifully restored 1950's teak display cabinet with glass shelves. Originally, a 2-door wardrobe.
A 1950's art deco teak dresser. Lissa who owns a high end F & B restaurant in an exclusive part of KL is converting 2 pieces of the above into vanity tables with sink in the center.
Another art deco dresser with beautiful round wooden cabinet. Sliding glasses, shelf and big round mirror to add. SOLD to Mohamad in Singapore. Will be bringing it down with his antique 4-poster brass bed which I'm helping him to restore.
A seasoned cast iron garden bench. Sold to Julia.
