VINTAGE FURNITURE - A TREASURE OF TIME, A PIECE OF MINE

Dear All

At our Second Charm in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur,  more and more are picking up individual pieces, restoring and reupholstering them with fabrics and colours of their own choice and transforming them into beautiful individual pieces that can solely and uniquely belong to them alone. Be it french arm chair, retro sofa, midcentury dining chairs, cane furniture or formica top table.  One can proudly claims a certain piece as "this piece of mine" - the result of creative choice and fine taste. And I'm sure the pieces will remain with them for a very long time as they had personally handpicked them and personally involved in the creative transformation.  And we share in the joy and beauty of these pieces.

Below are some of those "pieces of mine", that came back from reupholstery and some vintage furniture that came back from restoration.  These restored pieces are really treasures of time, beauties that mellow with age and provide silent and sturdy companionship in the days of our lives.

A gorgeous outcome for this french wing chair that we reupholstered for Michelle.
The fabric is deep blue denim with gold threads that make it both casual yet formal.
The wooden frame is painted in white flat. A total transformation from the velvety
red fabric and brown frame when she first got the piece from us.

Michelle picked up a plain looking ottomon which was originally in black PVC
and we helped her transformed the piece to be a lovely match for the wing chair.

Another individualized piece we did for Chris Choo.  Chris is proud to
let us know that the fabric is from Laura Ashley. We make sure that the bird
is well captured on the centre of the back rest.  The wooden  frame
remains in its original condition.

This authentic retro piece was not from us but we helped Irwin restored the
wooden frame and reupholstered it  in black pvc and  the tufted buttons
and pipings in cream instead of white. I wish this piece is mine.

Another authentic retro piece of the 60's.  Wooden frame in original condition.
New upholstery. This is really a piece of mine.

A retro sofa set that we restored and reupholstered for Ellen and Andrew.
Lovely orange that brings light and joy to any living room.

When we first got this piece, the upholstery was tethered and torn, though the
wooden frame was in good condition. Arthur chose bright red and it turns out great.
