TRULY RETRO - TRULY VINTAGE

We got a good haul of genuinely, truly retro furniture yesterday. Some are in good condition and some of course, will look better with restoration. I'm still reeling in the excitement of that finds. The wonderful thing about these retro pieces, all except one of them, are of solid teak. But that non teak piece is so colourful and so truly retro, I couldnt leave it behind.

We also got a few good art deco pieces, vintage pieces of the 50's, in solid burmese teak and some good modern furniture, outdoor furniture, paintings, mirrors, wooden opera chest, folk art wooden decorative trunks, Indonesian teak divider and other small finds.

My favourite find of the day. Its really difficult to come across this truly retro sideboard. Of solid teak with blue vintage formica on top. L47.5 x D18 x H39 inches. Will be lovely once restored. Will look like the piece below.

Because the piece is of solid vintage teak, the wood grains come out beautifully with restoration. Sold some time ago.

The non teak piece that I mentioned earlier. But a truly cute, colourful retro piece. Dimension L46.75 x D16 x H41 inches.

A retro chest of drawer-cum-dresser. Solid teak and in relatively good condition. Need minor touch up only and worth retaining the vintage patina of the wood. Dimension L36 x D21 X H44 inches

A solid teak Queen size retro bed with sliding wooden panels on one side and another pull down drawer on the other higher side of the head board. The flowers on the headboard are just stickers
that can easily be removed.

A rare 1920's marquetry, art deco wooden sofa. Seats have been recaned and the back is adjustable.Will come with two-and-half inch cushion. Dimension L54.5 x D21 inches. Reserved for Onn Peng

A charming art deco 1950's solid burmese teak dresser.Dimension L44 x D17.75 x H24 inches. Full height with mirror is 64 inches.

A rare solid teak 1950's divider with open shelf above. Dimension L54 x D22 x H39 inches. Full height 73 inches. Depth of the open shelf is 9 inches. The other side of the divider has a different design - longer glass shelves and cabinets on one side only. See below for the other side of the divider. An interesting piece indeed.

I missed on a few images - that of an Indonesian teak divider, a 1950's side board and bedside table and a Chinese opera wooden chest. Will try to provide them later.

Just for your information, SECOND CHARM KL will be closed for the Hari Raya from 9 to 16 September. We will open on Friday 17 September. SECOND CHARM SINGAPORE will close only for one day - 10 September. We will be opened on Saturday 11.
